Abstract

This paper aims to recapitulate some concepts learned that are involved with the development of the Knowledge Society: information, knowledge, learning, development and innovation models, knowledge economy. A brief overview of the history of libraries is presented in an attempt to understand the important role that they have played in the development of mankind and understand the responsibility and opportunity facing the changes that we are living.
