Scientific productivity of the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez from 1946 to 2012

The purpose of this paper is to present a bibliometric analysis on the scientific productivity of the National Insti- tute of Cardiology Ignacio Chávez based on the Scopus information system. We retrieved information about the scientists and the journal of this institute. The information is presented in tables by author, journal title, year, au- thor affiliation, language, document type, country, keywords and number of authors of each record and citations, both by author and by article title. We identified the 62 most prolific authors and their productivity was analyzed by the quantity of publications, citations, publications by one author and first author, type of documents and publication years. We analyzed the documents with a high level of citations. It was observed that the increase in publications has been constant since 1946, especially since 2000. There are a significant percentage of articles with citations. Most articles are written in collaboration, often with other national and international institutions. In conclusion, we analyzed different aspects of the scientific productivity of this Institute.
