Training in the use of electronic information resources for the staff of the Central Library of the CINVESTAV-IPN

Abstract

The experience of preparing and giving a workshop to train the staff of the Information Services Department in the Central Library of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Cinvestav-IPN) in the use of electronic resources available through its Digital Library, with the aim of generating or reinforcing the necessary skills that allow them to train, in turn, their users in the development of informational competencies for the use of such resources. The resources were allocated according to the scientific and technological areas of the research of cinvestav. Emphasis was placed on teamwork and learning. At the end of each presentation, exercises were carried out that were used to evaluate the acquired competencies. The workshop was evaluated through two questionnaires: one for the staff and one for the instructors.
