Innovation in libraries, for whom do we innovate?

This article explores the relevance of innovation in libraries not only as a common practice in various industries and institutions, but also as a fundamental characteristic of the library field. Following the contributions of Maribel Riaza, R. David Lankes and J. A. Merlo Vega, it presents the different types of innovation that can be implemented in libraries as well as sufficient examples to identify them. In addition, it seeks to promote reflection on the recipients of innovation. Sometimes it is thought that they are aimed at users, but the lack of willingness to explore and gather information may mean that this is not the case.
