The selection process is aimed at developing strategies that allow the collection of bibliographic resources in a library. This article carries out a local analysis of the bibliographic resources of the general collection of the General Library of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and an analysis of trends in the Scopus database to identify the main publishers on insurance issues. The local analysis made it possible to identify a group of relevant publishers with a historical and classic character for the selection of books on insurance law such as MAPFRE, Legis, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana or Fasecolda. For its part, the trend analysis allowed us to identify the publishers that today publish most frequently on insurance law issues, such as Springer, Taylor & Francis, Nova Science, Cambridge University Press and Elsevier. In the local analysis as in the analysis of trends, the publication of books on the subject of insurance law prevails in Latin American, North American and European countries.
