In this paper we reflect on the role of the university library during 2019 to march 2021. We broadly analyzed the ordeal suffered by library services during the period of lockdown caused by covid-19. We started with the question: what are the prospects for the university library in the new normal? From there, we focused our study on the users of the UAER library. We concluded by pointing out that, thanks to our statistical controls, it was possible to compare and analyze the behavior of users in the use of library services during the period above mentioned, thus laying the foundations to propose more efficient service strategies (including digital services) for the UAER user community in the so-called new normal.
