Bibliotecas verdes: ¿Existen en Yucatán?

Resumen

La siguiente investigación presenta el tema del desarrollo sostenible y cómo esta corriente se ha relacionado con las bibliotecas. Para ejemplificar este punto, se presentan varios estudios realizados con la idea de aplicar este enfoque en diferentes bibliotecas, ocasionando el surgimiento de las bibliotecas verdes, es decir, bibliotecas diseña- das para minimizar el impacto negativo en el medio ambiente. Esto con el propósito de tener un panorama general que permita entender cómo se ha llevado a cabo esta idea del desarrollo sostenible en el estado de Yucatán. Para lograrlo, se realizaron una serie de entrevistas al personal de cinco bibliotecas ubicadas en la ciudad de Mérida. Los resultados arrojan que la entidad todavía tiene un largo camino que recorrer para que sus bibliotecas operen bajo el concepto del desarrollo sostenible. Sin embargo, ya se están dando los primeros pasos hacia este camino.
